NEST Cell Culture Inserts Sterile Test Plates – PET Membrane, TC-Treated
NEST Cell Culture Inserts with membrane PET (polyester) and surface TC-Treated are professional cell culture systems designed for studies of cell transport, migration, invasion, and polarization. The inserts are integrated with 6-well, 12-well, and 24-well plates, and are also available in a 100 mm vessel configuration, making it easy to match the format to the scale and type of experiment and integrate with typical laboratory equipment. Accessories from the section are ideal for everyday use. pipetting and dosing, including NEST serological pipettes, which facilitate rapid and sterile medium administration. The PET membrane is distinguished by its excellent transparency and high optical clarity, facilitating the observation of cell morphology and condition under brightfield and fluorescence microscopy, while low protein binding facilitates reproducible results in transport and cytotoxicity assays.
PET membrane and TC-Treated surface – technical parameters and quality
Various pore diameters of PET membrane are available – 0,4 µm, 1,0 µm, 3,0 µm and 8,0 µm – which enables precise model matching to the application: from barrier models (e.g., Caco-2, MDCK) to leukocyte migration, endothelial cell, or cancer cell invasion assays. TC-Treated is modified by vacuum plasma discharge, which gives it a hydrophilic character and a negative surface charge, supporting the adhesion and proliferation of most cell lines and ensuring stable, repeatable culture conditions. To reduce the risk of contamination and work with small volumes, we recommend pipette tips with filter, and when preparing sterile media and buffers they are useful sterile PES filters 0,22 µmThe inserts are individually packaged in Tyvek® blisters with a tear-off lid, sterilized using the E-Beam (SAL 10⁻⁶) and manufactured from transparent, virgin polystyrene grade USP VI; are free from DNase, RNase and pyrogens, and the batch number ensures full traceability of each batch.

To maintain consistent dispensing precision (especially in batch work and automation plans), it is worth using automatic pipettes and matching accessories from the category serological pipettes, which additionally increases work safety and repeatability of results.
